Magpie Tales # 70 ~ Mute ~

I stare at you.
A silver tear-trail
on a glossy cheek
breaks your heart.

You want to know my story....
I cannot tell you.
My age has made me mute.

I am but dust and
a face with a silver
tear-trail.
For sale.

  4. Hi Sioux...yes, and the feelings I had about it were much more than I was able to express...but I had to try.

    Thanks for calling in.

  7. Yes, I wonder what she would think...She could never imagine the world we live in that we could all be seeing her photo, which was in her time technologically advanced... Lovely, poignant post.

  8. I loved your poem, for it
    creates life from the inanimate,
    which reinforces the notion
    that images do contain, have
stolen a tiny part of the sacred
soul, and you connected with the
spark, let it move through you,
let it use your lips, and your
voice, and your heart, just for
    a wondrous moment,

  12. This is lovely. I wondered if anyone would pick up on the reflection that looks like a tear trail.

  13. This is the first Magpie I have read that makes something of the reflection or printing imperfection at the side of her nose. An interesting Magpie.

  14. Nice one. Age has made her mute, but there's still a question in her expression.

  15. I am dust - yes, but she exudes an energy and question, even so. Nicely crafted.
