~ Frail as Ice ~
Winter snowfall frail as ice,
shifting against
polished green
bitter herbs.
Ritual of the unfree.
The wine poured,
and the door
a promise of stars.
In shadow.
Necessary.

~ Waves Swell Roaring ~
A fading, gleaming waywardness.
tightly enjoying escape.
Out in nature,
waves swell, roaring.

~ The River's Stars ~
Blackening weather
as thin winter flows.
The river's stars
Unclench fists.
Trees housed in stone.
A naked red mountain
writes dark, ruined wine.

~ Who Listened? ~
Summer golden.
Loudly sky.
Blue~green days.
Laughter.
See the prophet?
Who listened?

~ Fired on the Craggy Poet ~
The wild wall of sea,
salting
like the gaudy trees
of Scarlet Valley,
fired on the craggy poet...
Death of a Lover.

~ Have the Imagination ~
Have the imagination.
The forest: leaves, a waterfall,
a face in the rock.
Winter rain, and the crow
in the graveyard.
The fever of the drums;
the warrior with the sword;
the fire and water
warm by the black crossing.
Exhausted hands
of the West
of the East
leave nothing
to write about.
